Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

The scheme involved hearing from some of the firm’s lawyers on key cases, as well as a legal thinking session and corporate negotiation exercise. On the second day, we attended a practice area fair to hear from experts in the Corporate, Finance, Real Estate, Tax and other departments, and undertook a shadowing session with one of the firm’s trainees in the afternoon.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

The scheme was really helpful in this regard, we attended a talk on applications and the opportunities that HSF provides, including open days, vacation schemes and campus ambassador experiences.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The scheme provided a fantastic insight into HSF’s high-performing yet supportive culture. I was able to hone my legal thinking skills via one of the workshops, and the negotiation exercise provided a great insight into the world of corporate law. The frequent networking opportunities also helped to develop links with like-minded students and firm lawyers.
