Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role consisted starting in the morning in the office, doing research as to what initiations or programs within the community were available in regards to sports and wellbeing, in which catered to toddlers, kids and the elderly. I then would get assigned a specific fitness class to speak to the attendees and gather quantitative research through conversation, focus groups and survey questions. At the end of the day, I would compile my findings into an excel sheet.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given enough responsibility in which I could manage. I had supportive supervisors who checked in regularly and asked if I needed any assistance. The company was inviting and everyone was open to participate in data collection. Even most attendees that partake in the services provided were welcoming and willing to speak with me.

Through this placement, I was able to develop my communication skills with senior management, stakeholders and frontline staff. I was able to develop my research skills, by creating various surveys, analyzing data and compiling it into presentable data through graphs.
