Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I work under ER Specialists and HR consultants. my day to day sees me completing projects with the consultants from people within the business. I also work with the Employee Relations so I am currently learning about the process of disciplinaries, grievances etc and how the company supports employees with sicknesses.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I have been given more responsibility than I ever thought I would have been given. I am in charge of projects and tasks which has really helped me develop professionally and personally.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have improved my professional skill set such as communicating with people within the business. Developed on the hard skills I learnt at university, so being able to apply those skills helps you understand why they are so important. I have learnt how important deadlines are so expanding my organisation and prioritising skills has allowed me to meet deadlines effectively.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Endless amounts of support and guidance. My managers and colleagues are always there for me and no questions are silly. They make me feel so included in the team, which allows me to confidently go to them to ask for assistance/guidance when needed.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Company culture is amazing. Everyone I have met has been so nice and welcoming, the atmosphere in online meetings and in the office is so friendly and genuine. Such an incredible company to work in.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

Enjoy it so much, couldn't have asked for a better time at Siemens. The team and the company is very good. I would highly recommend completing a placement with them.
