Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I worked within the video recommendation team, focusing on improving existing machine learning models, running experiments to assess impacts on user metrics, and engineering work (for example, to develop new features).
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given ownership and responsibility over my own project, as well as given the freedom to explore various ways to improve existing models and directly interact with production code.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The team culture in the London office is quite relaxed, with a good amount of freedom to work in the way that allows you to contribute best. Our team was quite sociable and the general atmosphere is very friendly.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed my internship quite a bit more than I was expecting, with the general work environment, socials, and benefits being a huge bonus on top of the development of my technical skills.
