Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Two days of sessions and interactive workshops with VPs, Managers and Associates in the Client Service Team. The insight days provided a chance to gain an understanding of the company, its values and what the role of an Associate consists of. They provided the opportunity to talk to lots of people in AlphaSights and work on the skills required to be successful within the company as well as beyond. An individual interview is also conducted as an opportunity to progress into the final stage for a 2025 graduate associate role.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I really enjoyed having such a thorough introduction to the company and the opportunity to talk to lots of different people within it. The role available was very clearly outlined and it remained the focus throughout the experience. I took a lot away from the Insight days despite it only being a two day experience.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Yes, I developed skills specific to AlphaSights and their BREAD framework. The seminar and workshop based sessions give the opportunity to put some of the skills into practice.
I also expanded my business acumen and vocabulary, particularly developing my knowledge of value chains. There was also a focus on interview skills and I received useful feedback after my individual interview.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company had a strong emphasis on hard work and drive but remains to feel friendly and supportive. It is clearly a very young company which gives it a competitive and dynamic feel. One of the associates referred to the ‘flat hierarchy’ of AlphaSights which I found to be reflected within the office.

Do research into the company and the role at the early stages. Familiarise yourself with the values, competitors and challenges facing the company. Be authentic during interviews and ask lots of questions to a variety of people.
