Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As a summer intern in analytics and sales I collaborated with the analytics department and sales department by shadowing my colleagues, attending team meetings and client meetings, visits and trainings. I also could have several trainings and lessons about the different functions and departments.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I believe I was given a lot of responsibility since I could call clients, arrange meetings with them, attend trainings,... I think I have had a lot of exposure and reliance so I believe I could not have more responsibility.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received a lot of support. First, from people in the company and thanks to my network and the reachability of everyone and their willingness to chat with me and help me. Second, thanks to the different trainings and lectures I could attend about the workflow of our clients, and the Bloomberg functions

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The atmosphere was unique. Everyone, absolutely everyone was willing to help, to solve doubts and to provide guidance. I could reach very senior people and I did not feel strict hierarchy at all. I think the culture is the most worth valued asset of Bloomberg because of the amount of diversity and different opinions that there are. There is a lot of respect and the company really takes care of its employees with the multiple benefits, events, socials

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed it thank you to the way it was organized. I could interact a lot with my fellow interns so I could develop strong and real friendships. Furthermore, I could build strong relationships with full time employees and I received a lot of guidance from a professional but also personal perspective.

What advice would you give to others applying to Bloomberg
I would recommend them to have an open mind and to engage more with the technical aspects of the terminal. I would also recommend them to develop a good network and be prepared for listening to people and receive good feedback.
