Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

On a regular day I would mainly help on client work from drafting letters and AVR’s to accounting or calculating transfer values. Isio also provided useful training sessions that would occur multiple times per week. I was also given a research project to work on climate change over the 6 weeks.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

From week one I was given responsibility through all the client work I was given. During the first week I drafted an AVR for a client which would eventually be sent out to all members of a pension fund.

I now have a much deeper understanding of how pensions are calculated. My excels skills have majorly improved through the training sessions we received.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

For the internship I was assigned a Performance Manager and a ‘Buddy’, my buddy was one of the Graduates who’d previously been in my position, who both reached out to be before my internship started. The entire office would also be soon to help if I was ever struggling with any work.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Everyone in the office was very friendly and happy to help if I was struggling on a work. Twice a week they held workflow meeting to make sure if anyone was overwhelmed with work.
