Not a huge amount of responsibility is placed on you, you are left to your own devices and are encouraged to attend as many site visits as possible, where you will learn plenty.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
My understanding of power system protection, as well as power system design has grown hugely. Before my placement I would drive past substations and not be able to tell you anything about them, now, id be able to drive past one and name every piece of equipment visible, and likely be able to list the protection schemes that will be used on the switchboard in the substation building.
