Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I worked as in Hive. My role was connecting Hive to other parts of Centrica such as British Gas Energy and British Gas services. My daily tasks were varied as I worked on many projects with different team members. Some of the highlights were leading training at a contact centre, managing performance pages and reviewing Hive sales calls. A small proportion of the tasks I was assigned were mundane but I was happy to be busy.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given I good amount of responsibility, I took ownership of some tasks and projects with support available if needed. I would have liked a bit more but that is personal preference.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I had an excellent support system. My team and manger were fantastic and were always available to help. Then we had the intern talent managers and buddys who weren't in our team and looked after them. These were especially excellent as it gave us an opportunity outside our role and the emerging talent team to get support.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Company culture was great, people enjoy work and are hard working in great balance. The company looks after their employees well. The offices are empty though with no atmosphere.

What advice would you give to others applying to Centrica
Decide what stream and what part of company you want to work in from the beginning and they will make it happen. There is a lot of travel associated with the job so be aware and be prepared.
