Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Great opportunity to learn more about the world of finance and involves a great training experience. Teaches you how to use the Bloomberg Terminal, allows you to shadow people working in analytics, gives you details about all parts of the company, not just sales and analytics. Furthermore it allows you to connect to so many Bloomberg workers and people who are also gonna be part of the company in the future. Great experience!
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It made me very hopeful, I wasn't entirely sure that this was the industry for me before entering the insight week, but now it's really solidified my views and showed me that there's a role for everybody. You don't have to be a finance expert to take part nor do you need to have a fixed idea of what you want in life. It's a very open and accepting company.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I've gained a great amount of new financial knowledge, I've also had the chance to be able to master some functions of the Bloomberg Terminal. Lastly it helped me learn and improve my interview skills and networking skills.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everybody was extremely friendly, lunch was provided and there were unlimited snacks available, honestly met some great people. Everybody could talk to each other and there were no "cliques", it seemed like everybody had a place to fit in

I really enjoyed the insight week, it was very informative and a lot of fun for me. A great insight as to what being a Bloomberg employee could potentially look like

Make sure you come in there with an open and friendly attitude, ready to learn and connect with others. It's a great opportunity to connect with future work colleagues or connections in the finance industry. Furthermore it's a great experience to put on your CV. Also, be yourself and people will notice your honesty.
