Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Civil engineering design of dwellings. This involves the use of CAD to design drainage, level sites, create construction details and take-off drawings.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given a lot of responsibility by being able to work on active or upcoming sites.

I have greatly improved my AutoCAD skills. I have improved my fluid mechanics knowledge through drainage design. I have improved my ability to work independently and under a time constraint.

I was trained on all new concepts before being asked to do work related to them. I was always allocated a person who could answer any questions I had about a particular task.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone was incredibly kind and was willing to help even when they were not directly involved with the task I was doing. Everyone is friendly and willing to have lunch or generally talk.

The engineering at Croudace is very diverse and does not focus on a single topic. Even if you're fixed on pursuing a particular branch of civil engineering, it would be worth applying to Croudace due to the broad nature of the topics covered.
