Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I was assigned in the Recoveries and Receivership team, and my day consisted of looking through our appointed properties, researching why and how they had ended in receivership, collating data about the borrower and the overall situation. I would look through valuation reports, online comps, and complete in-detail comps to see how much the property is currently worth and how it can be sold. Some days would consist of being in and out of the office.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I was given alot of responsibility during my placement. I was given numerous jobs and tasks throughout, with the team having more confidence in my capability towards the end of the placement, with more challenging tasks provided.

Yes, I have grown in confidence and ability to take on tasks individually that I may not have been skilled in before. I have pushed myself in time management skills, organisation, communication and ability to undertake new tasks.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

My supervisor [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] and the team were extremely helpful during my placement. They always answered when I had questions and were happy to give me extra guidance when I misunderstood some tasks.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Everyone in the office was extremely friendly and welcoming. I felt really accepted in the office and everyone was willing to have a chat.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I have extremely enjoyed my placement. I have loved to see the ins and outs of the company and get to know everyone in the team. It has been an invaluable experience that I will take with me to the future.
