Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I work on a variety of projects within my team, mainly conducting research found from local council pages and based on planning policy documents.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

There were many events organised for us which I appreciated, but I spoke to other departments I was interested in out of my choice and was supported by members of the HR team in this.

My presentation and analytical skills have developed thanks to the internship. I can use research to make informed recommendations to colleagues and clients.

The supervisor in my team, the department more widely, and HR have all helped me when I needed help accessing information or completing a task.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Very supportive, I was lucky to participate in social events where I felt everyone made an atmosphere to help the other interns and I feel included. There is a good balance between socialising during work days and hard work.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I've been very satisfied with all aspects of the internship. I've improved my knowledge of the industry alongside my development of soft skills and networking. The social activities have also really helped me feel part of the team. My only complaint is that I wish there was an option for a longer internship.
