Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Scope of work included affordable housing provision, valuation, and consultancy. This involved:
- Report writing to conclude affordable housing provision
- Residential research to assess potential development values
- Appraising development schemes to assess development values and developer's profits
- Valuation of various types of affordable housing using an in-house DCF model
Projects included residential and mixed-use schemes across London and the South East, from bespoke 5 house developments in Chelsea to 150-unit large apartments throughout London.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
The majority of my workload was internally-facing, which fed into the wider scope of client-facing work handled by my seniors. As the year progressed the level of independence and responsibility increased and this was valuable in teaching summer intern students later on in the placement.
