Summer Scheme student Review

My role within Savills is to work within the London Retail Management department. On a day to day basis, this has involved visiting sites managed by Savills and inspecting the site. This can involve ensuring the site is complying with Health and Safety regulations, the frontage of the shops are aligned with their contract and ensuring the overall site is functioning adequately. Moreover within the London Retail Management team, I have been involved in completing work flows, reconciliation reports and lease reading to expand my knowledge and gain confidence in completing these tasks successfully.

I was given the responsibility of selecting important parts of a lease, which was then used as supporting evidence. Moreover, completing work flows and excel spreadsheets with useful information for the team also highlights responsibility I had over the course of my internship.

I have learnt new skills such as how to complete a work flow report and a reconciliation report. I have developed my skills on excel and lease reading which has grown over the course of the internship.

I received a wide range of support and guidance during my internship from my mentor, directors and throughout the whole London Retail management team to ensure all my questions are answered.

The company culture was extremely supportive and encouraging during my internship, ensuring I am included in work in the office as well as social events within the team.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my internship and it has exceeded my expectations. I have learnt so many new skills and have further developed existing skills. My confidence has also grown over my time within the team, whilst consolidating my passion for real estate.
