Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As an intern, my job was to learn and observe. Everyday was different and I got a multitude of experience in the building project consultancy field. Days can vary from active site visits, helping with technical reports or doing preliminary research, but there was no prescribed day-to-day. I was able to gain experience across the whole field.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was able to partake in real world surveys, add elements to reports, and sit in on client meetings. While I was not laden with vital responsibility, I was able to participate and I felt like my work was valued.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Every opportunity taken is a lesson learnt and over the past month I was given numerous opportunities to gain valuable work experience. I was able to see the dynamics of a team and learn how to collaborate in an efficient manor. While you can stay on the bigger picture side of the field, I was able to learn technical details about, construction, development monitoring, and residential surveying.

The process is very well maintained and enough support is offered for you to be successful if you choose to be. Everyone is welcoming and helpful and there are great resources available.
