Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Tasks in the engineering field include making changes to drawings or creating models for design purposes. Additionally, writing documentation and reviewing test procedures are important aspects of the job. Maintenance and daily report meetings are held to ensure smooth operations. Collaborating with international employees is necessary for successful project completion. Designing for military projects requires specialized expertise. Lastly, resolving manufacturing and design issues is crucial for optimal performance.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I took the lead in spearheading projects and actively participated in various project tasks. I was treated as an integral part of the team, rather than just another intern. I was entrusted with the responsibility of traveling to other sites to gain insights into their practices and incorporate them into our projects. I also enjoyed the freedom to think creatively, and this had a positive impact on the outcomes of the projects.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
During my placement, I received an incredible amount of support and guidance from every employee. Whenever I needed assistance, they were always willing to help and provide guidance. The welcoming and friendly atmosphere created by everyone made the experience even more enjoyable.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
It was a fantastic place to work, as the people were accepting and understanding. Despite the aerospace industry being serious and detail-oriented, they made it bearable and enjoyable. The supportive and friendly atmosphere created by the people in the company made a significant impact. Even if the placement itself had been challenging, I would have still chosen to stay because of the wonderful individuals I had the opportunity to work with.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
It was a truly wonderful experience, and if I were to rate it, I would say that compared to my peers, I had the best placement. It provided the perfect balance of everything I needed to grow as an engineer. I was given challenging tasks that allowed me to appreciate the industry and apply what I had learned during my time at university.
