Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I manage the project for the ERP team. Help centralise task tracking in the team and provide reporting data to leaders for them to report out on progress and to see how the team is doing.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given lots of responsibility such as being leading access plans and a major schedule for testing phases. I was also given responsibility for team communcations to the company and tracking team progress. I was also accountable for these if i messed up and made the effort to fix anything i caused.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have learnt lots of hard skills such as Excel, and skills with role specific tech such as Smartsheet. I have vastly improved my Microsoft skills. I have greatly improved my soft skills such as communication, people, organisation and leadership skills.

I received a lot of support through one on ones with my leaders and also given support from teams close to mine. There was also support from the other interns which helped me to professionally build myself.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
It is a nurturing environement where they get you to do new things that will help the wider roles and ask you to ask questions to clarify the help you need. Overal a very positive environment where you feel confident that you can go to other teams and they will support you.

What advice would you give to others applying to GE Aerospace
Be honest in your interviews, the most important thing they want to see is that you are willing to learn and accept feedback and work on that feedback. A lot of interns here are on roles that they have not covered a module in uni before. So being able to learn new things is great. But also being responsible enough to be accountable if you mess up.
