Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role starts with stock checks on a morning to ensure that there will be no impacts to production throughout the day. The rest of my day is spent interacting with suppliers about future orders and mitigating any supply delays or logistic delays.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given more responsibility than first expected however this challenged myself to grow and rise to the task. I was in charge of a total of 12 suppliers over the year which ranged from UK suppliers the Suppliers all across Europe totaling over 400 different parts for the Juke and Qashqia models

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have developed my excel ability massively over the last year, I have also developed my ability to present information to a groups which was something i found daunting at first but over the year I have had 3 different opportunities to present to varying levels of management within the business.

I received a lot of support firstly from my mentors and the wider teams who were all familiar with the suppliers i had so were more than happy to help and guide myself when problems arose

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The wider atmosphere was great everyone made an effort to introduce themselves and then to their teams and explain the roles they have within the office which made collaboration much easier.

Give it a go, it might not seem like the industry you would want to work in at first but you would be surprised how similar it is to most other supply chain operations
