Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

The main role is helping and aiding the Aerosol Design team with their tasks and projects. I had a personal project that I had a lot of freedom over how to manage and work with. I was also able to have a lot oportunities to connect with colleages and memebers of the busniess to build connections. No 2 days were ever the same, there was a lot of variety and flexiibility within the job.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Once I have built some confidence within my role and the business, I was given much more responsability and freedom in doing jobs and testing

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have been able to develop, and build a variety of new skills.
These include soft skills such as presentation, project managment, time managment, office suite and colabaration.
I have also been able to develop my technical skills, such as use of scientific equipment, special softwares, use of SOP's and good laboratory practice

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

There was a good amount of both support and guidance given by both the placement team and my line manager. I have never felt like I cant ask people for help and guidance.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Overall, BAT has a great company culture, where everyone seemed willing to help or give advice to us as interns. Also, while there is a lot of work to do, there is always events put in place by BAT to give their staff a break.
