Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I support the A400M wing design team by performing Design, Continuous Product Development and Integration tasks. I also organise and lead tours of the A400M wing and A350 Equipped Gear Beam manufacturing plants.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given a good amount of responsibility in my placement. This includes being responsible for delivering work such as drawings, in a correct and timely manner. I have also been responsible for the safety and wellbeing of groups of people as I conduct tours. Additionally, I have been responsible for coordinating and organising important events and meetings.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have developed my CAD skills and learned how to use CATIA, TREND, PASS, SAP and other tools such as NormMaster. I have also developed skills as public speaking, interpersonal skills and massively improved my knowledge and understanding of aeronautical engineering.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The culture and atmosphere in my team has been very friendly, welcoming, supportive, innovative and fun. I also feel that I am in a motivated, mature and forward-thinking team.
