Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I worked on our new HQ project and I was the Programme manager for the change of address on our entities. I also assisted with multiple projects for the new HQ move, ranging from project budgeting to hosting workshops for the team. As Programme manager I led an impact assessment on all LOCs to ensure our medicine continues to reach our markets. My role meant i engaged with a wide range of business units.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was made to feel part of the team and not like an intern. I personally led a £8 million Programme which shows the vast amount of responsibility I had.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
The main skill I developed was project management. This was key for my role and GSK enhanced this skill by giving me the opportunity to complete the Prince2 training course.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
GSK has a clear focus to develop you as a person. The training programs they offer and the development plans you complete are tracked throughout the year to make sure you can get the most out of your year. I had weekly calls with my seniors to ensure the Programme I led was on track and receive any guidance. Everyone at the company is there to help so support can be found for any issue.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone has the same ambition and that is patient first. It is clear to see around the company that everyone wants you to develop and has the best intentions.

This year has been one of the best decisions I have made so far. I connect with my university friends often to see how their placement years are going and I will always speak highly of GSK.
