- Upkeep of contracts with suppliers
- Follow supplier price updates
- Follow negotiations with suppliers
- Upkeep on excel files and team trackers
- Work on savings projects with suppliers
- Place orders and process invoices

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given exactly the same responsibility as other full time employees in my team, handling large amounts of money, communicating directly with our suppliers, and being the champion of file upkeep. My team trusted me and were always there to help.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Future Careers Team (Unilever team responsible for student programmes etc.) provide onboarding and offboarding training, there are always talks and tutorials going on by tech teams on how to use all the programmes, my team had left me lots of step by step guides and key information that needs to be passed to next students.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

I really enjoyed Unilever culture. I would have liked more people in the office but over the year I was there, we started holding more quizzes and office parties which brought more people in. It was a hybrid experience, about 3 times in the office weekly.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

My job was not the most exciting, not much range in tasks over the year, felt slightly repetitive over time. But there were so many other students on placement/graduate schemes/apprentices with me (around 50+) it was great being able to bond and have friends in and out of work place. I found my placement very beneficial for my development.
