Finance Placement Review

My role mainly focuses on managing the indirect costs of our London site. I also support my manager in the management of the costs of out Doha and Dubai site too.
I am responsible for approving and managing indirect budget and invoice requests from our suppliers and solving any invoice queries that may come up.
I am also responsible for monthly generation and analysis of reporting packs that summarizes our spend per month

Yes, I was given a lot of responsibility and support from the beginning of my placement itself.
The placement allows you to have that sense of ownership of your work but you are given a lot of support from managers and mentors to help you to feel confident in it.
There are also lots of opportunities to get involved in projects throughout the year too.

I have developed my Excel skills as well as my communication, team-working, presentation and organization skills in this role.
The role has also expanded my knowledge of the aerospace sector.

Lots of support. My manager was a really big support to me from the beginning. We have regular catch-ups and she helped me a lot to reach my development plans to make sure I made the most out of my placement year.

Really friendly company culture, you feel like you are a part of the team from the beginning. Our team did monthly team-building socials which really helped to bond with the team. Overall, the company is really welcoming and senior leaders are really supportive and encouraging.

I have really enjoyed my placement year. It has been really insightful and has helped me to gain a lot of knowledge into how my degree can be used in a variety of sectors.
