Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Draft and execute NDAs and Licences. Review and assist negotiations for Terms and Conditions. Complete contract review standard work and complete general office admin. Help organise office events and occasions.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Through-out training and development of my personal portfolio I was trusted with tasks equivalent to that of a Junior Contract Manager. I was trusted with executing legal Agreements and communicating with Customers and Universities to negotiate legal documents. I was responsible for completing risk assessments of legal documents - identifying terms and clauses which presented risk to the business and redrafting clauses and documents.

I had a People Leader/Mentor who provided me with great training and guidance throughout the 12 months of my placement. Throughout the whole team I worked within, I received full support and guidance allowing me to quickly develop and excel within the role.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I have highly enjoyed my time at GE Aerospace within the Contracts Team. As a first insight into the corporate field and legal industry, I have been given many great opportunities, felt appreciated and valued within the Team and wider business.

What advice would you give to others applying to GE Aerospace
Develop knowledge of not only the Company on face level, but also what the business/site you are applying for does. GE Aerospace appreciate enthusiasm for the work they complete. Have an understanding of the history of GE Aerospace, the company has grown and changed drastically since its establishment. Be prepared to give your all on placement with GE Aerospace to get the most out of the experience!
