Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Speaking with experts on a daily basis to find the best fits for our clients to speak to. I was additionally working within the research team, tasked with producing investor focussed research about companies across various industries and geographies

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I believe I was given significant responsibility in this placement. I felt like I was treated in a very similar way to a normal associate, without having the pressure or expectations that may be placed on a full time associate allowing to foster an environment for me to learn and develop freely.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received significant guidance and support. I had weekly meetings with my trainer to discuss how I was performing and what areas there were for me to improve. Addittionally I had monthly meetings with my manager where we discussed how I was dealing with the job with a less technical focus and more focussed on my happiness in the role. Furthermore I was given a mentor who I was able to speak to about anything which I not comfortable speaking to my manager about

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The general atmosphere was very welcoming and I felt very comfortable whilst working there. It is also a very motivating place to work with so much success happening at the company.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I thoroughly enjoyed my time working at AlphaSights. I was given the opportunity as with all the other placement students to get to meet the senior leadership team and learn more about their journey. I also was given significant responsibility whilst working at the company and got along very well with the vast majority of people I was working with.
