Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Assisting the SHE team on site with daily meetings with different teams to highlight their safety concerns and assist in giving advice. Work with personnel on site to complete different site surveys in order to ensure that the factory remains compliant and any risks are highlighted and mitigated. Ensure environmental compliance of different areas on site and provide other initiatives that can improve environmental compliance on site

The atmosphere is very friendly and everyone is willing to assist in anything you may need help with. Some of the future career opportunities are site dependent

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

The experience was valuable in aspects of improving soft skills and understanding manufacturing processes. The workload was also a good amount to give you enough time for completion while ensuring you meet deadlines. However in areas of personal development and external socialising this could be improved. In addition to this hybrid working is not flexible in a factory setting. Even with the skills gained through the scheme a graduate role is not guaranteed to placement students.
