Marketing Placement - Personal Care Strategy Review

The Strategy Team had a number of consistent workstreams, but also dealt with a range of ad-hoc tasks. One of my consistent responsibilities was to manage the investor board process, where brand teams bring their innovation projects to the internal investor board to request resources. Another workstream that I managed monthly was funnel reviews, which involved pulling data on our funnel size, sufficiency, and hygiene.

Yes - from the start, my manager encouraged me to take on the responsibility of the monthly investor board process. She supported me with this in the first few months, but once she recognised that I was handling it well, she stepped aside completely to give me fill ownership. Once I had 'mastered' managing one process, she walked me through another, and the cycle repeated.

Many of the skills I have learnt and developed are 'soft' skills. I was encouraged from an early stage in my placement to communicate with senior stakeholders and manage monthly processes. This grew developed my organisational skills but, more importantly, grew my confidence.
I have also developed my Excel skills, and am now better at creating more engaging presentations.

Plenty - my manager set up biweekly meetings to check in on my progress with work and to check how I was doing mentally. She was keen to push me to take on more responsibility, but not to overload me with work. I felt challenged but not stressed.

Amazing - everyone you meet is friendly. My entire team were always happy to answer questions or help me whenever I needed. They were all so supportive of my personal journey and keen to help me develop.

I loved it - it was absolutely perfect for me and I am so glad I chose to do it.
