Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
This role involvesMy role as Junior Packaging Designer within the Beauty and Wellbeing (B&W) business group involves many tasks. Within the wider B&W packaging design team, I have been assigned to the Creative and Strategy team which deals with the more creative design tasks/jobs (like graphic design, concept generation and product visualisation) as opposed to the Design Engineering team that deals with the more technical side of the design process (such as DFM and product engineering). Tasks vary day to day and depend on running projects that I am assigned to. Crossover exists across the design teams which has enabled me to gain valuable insight into both aspects of the design process. As a team, we have also began working with AI through tools such as Midjourney and Photoshop (Beta). I have also been able to work with external suppliers as well as design teams based in the U.S and China.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Given multiple projects that I was given the freedom to lead together with another design intern and was given lots of creative freedom and trust in delivering a vast amount of high quality renderings of a diverse portfolio of Unilever products. Was also trusted and given the creative freedom in a lot of different graphics based projects.
