Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

The scheme involved a combination of organised talks, project work and opportunities within our assigned seats. We also had regular socials and information sessions that allowed the vacation scheme students to network.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

The scheme allowed for a comprehensive insight into the work of the firm, and the opportunities available within each practice area. Sessions on pro bono, secondments and DEI highlighted the focus of the firm on personal development and inclusivity.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have further developed my skills in time management and communication through embracing every opportunity and engaging with professionals from across the firm. Equally, I have learnt how to approach, organise and research within the context of legal tasks - specifically I completed a number of tasks focused on the creation of transaction documents and client communication emails.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The culture of the firm is incredibly supportive and welcoming. Throughout the two weeks everyone made a clear effort to introduce themselves and were extremely open to offering advice and insights to students.
