Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The insight programme consisted in many different activities, such as general overview of the company, team work and team building, some work shadowing, but also some case studies and assessed tasks.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Discovering all the different roles available helped me to make a choice between investment banking and Sales and Trading, which was not an easy choice for me. Thanks to this insight programme, I figured out that I wanted to work in sales and trading.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have developed my social and interactive skills with the other spring interns. I also learned a lot on how a trading floor works and the difference between the divisions. It was very new for me to discover all that and helped me to have a clearer view on how sales and traders actually work.

I love the company’s culture, every one was very open to discuss about their work and answer all my questions. I am convinced that Jefferies is a great place to work.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
Of course 4 days is short but at the same time it is very intense and gives a good overview of the company. I am very grateful of having had this chance to participate to the programme.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Jefferies International
I would tell them to maie sure they have a clear resume, to have a story to tell about themselves that justifies their ambition of working in finance, and to practice their elevator pitch to sound clear and confident.
