Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The event provided insights into Amazon as a company and employee experiences with an integrated hackathon. There was also a Q&A panel with female software engineers who shared their stories on how they got to where they are today, the challenges they faced, and what they loved about their jobs.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I liked hearing from a product manager in the Prime Video department, who shared with us her background, how she joined Amazon and her experiences. She also discussed Amazon's mission and how they build and develop products with the customer's needs in mind and always focus on innovation. The event ended with a breakdown of the Software Engineering Internship application process with tips and tricks on how to succeed.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have learnt more about Amazon's open culture for inventing, where employees are expected to learn something new every day. I also participated in a 90-minute hackathon with six challenges of varying difficulty levels which exposed me to areas that I needed to work on and develop further.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Nice, friendly atmosphere. Everyone answered any questions that we had and gave me a great insight into what it would be like, to work at Amazon!
