Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Day 1 - I was able to hear from a wide number of representatives, including trainees and those working in non-legal capacities, who spoke informatively about who Fieldfisher as a firm are and what they stand for. I then attended a social at a nearby restaurant, which was also informative due to the presence of trainees.
Day 2 - This day focused more on Fieldfisher’s legal practice areas, hearing from senior solicitors in Corporate and DR among others. These individuals provided a comprehensive overview of the firm and were happy
to provide great insights and responses to our question. The pitch was also a great exercise to provide a brief insight into what sort of activities those attending assessment centres would carry out.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was greatly informative to hear from Fieldfisher’s graduate recruitment team to understand what positions are available and the application processes involved

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Thanks to the many talks and presentations hosted by the firm, I think I have developed and learnt numerous skills. For example, listening to the responses provided by trainees, who themselves had undergone the application process, was of great value in understanding how Fieldfisher’s application processes worked and how they have found training at the firm. Additionally, the talks hosted by senior figures at the firm have enabled me to understand how the firm works and what skills they believe are required for success

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I throughly enjoyed it, it was well-structured, the sessions generally flowed quite seamlessly (bar the occasional tech hiccup), and it was managed and hosted adeptly by Sarah, Victoria, and Eve. They certainly comported themselves with a perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness. Likewise, the other attendees that I spoke to in private mentioned similar things, so it was clearly a well-received event by all.

Yes
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fieldfisher LLP
To research the firm beforehand and absolutely take the leap to apply, as this seems like a firm where people can establish themselves competently in the legal sphere (with training opportunities) but also to enjoy themselves at the same time, thanks to the staff
