Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The event provided information on what Amazon is, the different sections of Amazon and their leadership principles. As well as those who have hosted introduced themselves, where they work and their experience in working in Amazon. They gave us information on the hackathon and provided breaks before and after the hackathon
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I felt that there was many paths you can take especially because of how big Amazon is as a company. There is definitely many choices you can take as an individual. From the insights that was given, Amazon seems to be a very curious driven place where everyone is open to learn and question things constantly. In general, Amazon seemed to be a very inclusive and open company to all.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
The hackathon altogether challenged my critical and problem solving skills as well as being conscious on time. It did help me recap a lot on my data structures and algorithms as majority of the questions involved uses of arrays, min and max values and other algorithms. Definitely gave me insight on what a hackathon is too since it was my first time.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Similar to what I said on the last question, Amazon seemed to have this consistent open atmosphere where you're open to be curious and question a lot of things. They have definitely expressed that the company culture is friendly when it comes to individuals who have a lot to ask and are open to curiosity. You're always learning as you go.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
Personally, I enjoyed being able to participate in my very first hackathon as well as be given tips for interviews. Made me feel very informed and more comfortable for what I'm going to experience next in my academic years.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Amazon
Personally, I think as an individual, you should be always open for criticism and motivated to be curious. Be open to show your individualism because not everything is about the work but about yourself and how you as a person would experience certain situations.
