Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The event felt very cohesive and organized. The hosts were fast to answer any questions and swiftly moved along the sections of the event. The event began with a quick introduction and run down which was particularly helpful as it allowed us as participants to get a good overview of the steps to be taken during the event. It was very inspiring to hear employees talk about their experiences at Amazon and give a great insight into what their paths to get to where they are now were. The hackathon was one of my favourite parts of the event as I got to practice my programming skills, even if I didn't get to complete it in full. The last part of the event was a very interesting conversation among employees and it was just nice to hear from the employees their views on their jobs.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was very encouraging, to be honest. It made me feel like this might be a possibility for me regardless of what my background might be or my previous accomplishments. I felt included and welcomed.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
During the Hackathon, I got to practice my Java programming skills. Given some of the questions were quite complex, I got to research some new approaches on how to solve them and/or make them more efficient. As a whole the hackathon allowed me to develop existing programming skills and research new ones.
Hearing the employees talk about their experiences at Amazon, their interview processes and their journey to be in the position they are in today, helped me learn new skills on how to approach any future interviews at or outside of Amazon.
