Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The event consisted of half a day virtually on a webinar. Presentations from employees sharing their job role and Amazon values. We then participated individually in a hackathon, which involved solving Hackerrank challenges, where the top 3 winners are awarded prizes. The day concluded with more opportunities for Q&A and insights into software engineering at Amazon.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
The opportunity to hear from software engineers at Amazon and understand more about women in tech is very insightful. It was very helpful to hear from a variety of teams with both AWS and Prime Video.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The companies values were emphasised to be customer-focused, with new products/features being designed for customer needs. The presenters mentioned joining Amazon to do more exciting/visibly impactful projects due to Amazon products being used worldwide on a large scale.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
The insight event definitely gave insight into the company that I wasn't aware of before. Due to the short duration of the event, I understand there was a limit to how much content they could plan for the event. The hackathon didn't really feel like an effective use of 2hrs unless the goal of participating in the event was to win the prizes. Overall, I just liked the Q&A panel where we to hear about the experiences of software engineers in Amazon.
