Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Firstly, a short introduction to working as an amazon product manager/software developer. Then a 1.5 hour long Hackathon solving 6 problems through HackerRank. Then another information evening about the FastTrack Application in Summer Internship 2025
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
A panel with consisting of software development managers and engineers in different departments within Amazon, gave me a better overview of what the role of a software developer manager and engineer consists of. An overview of the career progressions of the current developers really gave me a clear insight into the world of software engineering.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Working through a number of programming problems, helped me to develop my mathematical and analysis skills. It taught me to think on my feet and to draw from my previous experiences to brainstorm the best methods to approach tough questions.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
This was a very welcoming environment. To be able to interact with and hear the stories of other women in the computer science and software development industry was very insightful. I felt very comfortable about asking questions and the Hackathon fostered a healthy competition while still being in a low-pressure environment.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed the spring insight event! There was such a variety of amazing and knowledgeable women I was able to interact with and listen to the stories of. Through the Hackathon, I was able to practice some of my programming skills in an enjoyable environment. To be able to approach this event with a growth mindset and go out of my comfort zone was an amazing opportunity!
