Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

The event was very interesting being my first Hackathon! It ran very smoothly and gave me a nice little insight on Amazon (and their principles) and specifically Prime Video (as two speakers talked about).

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

Very interesting to learn about the different career paths of the panelists and the principles of the company. The hackathon was great fun!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes definitely! I’ve learnt more about how a hackathon runs but also not to give up - it’s just a bit of fun! I also had the chance to develop my Java skills from understanding the questions e.g., learning about the sort() method which sorts an array.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

I really enjoyed the insight. This was my first hackathon and I wasn’t put off despite having limited coding ability so that’s always a plus! The panelist’s career paths were also really interesting to hear about.
