HR Intern Review

In my current internship role, I spend half of my time providing support to the Early Careers team, mainly the apprenticeship and graduate programs, as well as performing administrative tasks such as levy tracking. The remaining half of my time is dedicated to assisting the HR Business Partners in various capacities, which involves assisting in team effectiveness sessions and providing support for grievances. Both of these roles are really great learning opportunities and allow me to practise and utilise different skills.

Yes I feel I have been given a lot of responsibility but also flexibility in what I am able to get involved in. There is a great deal of trust and independence given which is highly valued.

I have had the opportunity to assist in a range of diverse projects which has provided valuable experience in collaborating within multidisciplinary teams. This has strengthened my ability to work effectively alongside colleagues with different skill sets and perspectives. Furthermore, in supporting grievances and assisting with data responsibilities that arise, refined my problem-solving skills whilst developing a new data analytical skills. Additionally,
I have honed my ability to present ideas effectively across different communication channels, adapting my approach to suit diverse audiences and contexts. Thus far, my placement has presented a distinct opportunity to collaborate with an exceptional and skilled team of HR Business Partners and Early Careers Specialists.

I've been assigned three primary points of contact during my internship. They offer an informal channel for addressing questions and providing updates on my current projects. In addition to my manager, who has consistently provided incredible support for my development by challenging me while also fostering a fail-safe environment. In addition to this the HR team has also been consistently accessible and instrumental in facilitating my learning journey over the past 8 months. I'd also like to emphasise that within the business, there are numerous individuals whom I can reach out to for support or guidance whenever needed. This culture of support and belonging is something I have truly felt during my time at Boeing.

The overall atmosphere is exceptionally welcoming and supportive. It's evident that the company is not only focused on the end product but also deeply invested in the well-being and development of everyone involved at every level. In addition, there's a genuine emphasis on fostering a seek, speak and listen culture.

I've thoroughly enjoyed my internship thus far and am enthusiastic about continuing to evolve as an HR professional while refining and honing my power skills.
