Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I get to travel around the UK and working with large UK suppliers that require attention to ensure delivery is on time. We work with the supplier to ensure processes are in place to help them recover and that they produce high quality products, on time.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement and have my own suppliers and statement of work to manage. I am valued as one of the members of the team, rather than an intern.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have learnt many professional skills, such as communication in the workplace and how to manage workplace relationships. Especially between a Buyer and Supplier. I better understand how a complex organization works and feel very confident in that setting. My knowledge on both supply chain and aerospace has increased beyond belief.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture at Boeing is diverse. There is always a busy atmosphere and a lot going on, the company is full of hard working people that execute their job to a very high level. As well as this, there is a big community at Boeing, everyone is always happy to give you their time and help in any way they can. Its a very supportive environment.

What advice would you give to others applying to Boeing UK

My advice would be to keep an open mind while applying and be eager to learn. There is a lot of opportunities working at a company like Boeing, don't close yourself off. Be confident and say yes to everything. The internship is time consuming but there is a lot to be able to get out of it. I have travelled America with Boeing, the opportunities are endless if you network and put yourself out there!
