Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
On the first day we received talks from various members of the bank and partook in networking events. The second day was technical training, we learned the basics of valuation which was very useful. The third day we finished our technical our technical training and then received an overview of each banking division, followed by a networking event in the evening. The final day was an assessment centre for the summer internship.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was highly informative. I had looked on pretty much every bank's website in the past and could never get an actual understanding of the divisions and what working in them entailed on a daily basis. It has given me an idea of what I division I would like to go into as a summer analyst.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Yes, I developed my technical skills, attended a class on networking and understanding your strengths which was highly informative. I had some experience with some of the valuation methods but learned some nuances than expanded my knowledge. I also learned new valuation methods which have given me a great foundation for when I begin my career.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was very good. Everyone we spoke to in the bank spoke very highly of it. Especially surrounding the time senior employees give juniors. During the week it was easy to get the impression that it was a great place to work.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I found the insight very enjoyable for the reasons mentioned previously. It can be quite daunting being around such impressive and talented people but everyone on the program was very nice. Another thing that stood out to me was how well organised it was. During the week we had very little time standing around.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BNP Paribas
Apply early as there is a lot of applicants every year. Decide carefully if you are more interested in banking or markets because the only division you will only be able to interview for the summer internship for the spring week you attend.
