Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
We learnt technical information on capital markets and participated in networking workshops. We participated in many simulations such as an asset management simulation and trading simulation. We spent most of our time hearing from people working in the bank and learning about what they do on a day to day basis
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was really intriguing to learn about the intricacies of BNP Paribas. I really enjoyed hearing from people working in different divisions of global markets as it allowed me to see how many different roles there are within the bank and how they differ.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have certainly developed upon my technical skills. For example, I certainly have a better understanding of bonds and how they might be priced. I have also learnt about certain macroeconomic indicators and how they may move and affect the markets. Furthermore, I also learnt more about participants of the financial markets and what they do.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture of BNP Paribas is excellent. Its commitment to employee development and sustainable investment makes it the perfect place for an eager student such as myself to begin a career in markets. Everyone was extremely friendly and willing to help you learn.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I extremely enjoyed the insight program. I found all aspects of it to be extremely insightful and I learnt a lot. Furthermore, it was an excellent chance to network and meet other students with similar interests but from different backgrounds. I have no doubt that I will maintain these new relationships and stay in contact with the new friends I have made

I would recommend people to make the most of the opportunities BNP Paribas provides. If they were successful in their application, I would advise them to be proactive and engaged all throughout their time with BNP Paribas as it is an excellent opportunity to learn and network.
