Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The insight was two weeks.
During this time, I attended firm presentations about the different practice areas; Capital Markets, Corporate, Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations amongst others.
I also networked with staff members during coffee chats. Additionally, I had assessed tasks and tasks from my Principal, which I had to complete within strict time deadlines. I had opportunities to work on live deals, and gained a strong insight into how the firm operates.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was very exciting to learn more about the business. I particularly enjoyed speaking to Partners within the Firm, to learn more about Linklaters' growth strategy, and how they intend on carrying it out.
I also appreciated having many opportunities to learn more about the role of a trainee, and through the coffee chats I booked, I gained exposure to the different practice areas, and the responsibilities of a trainee in those departments.

I have learnt and developed many skills.
With the assessed tasks, I gained legal research skills. In the Client Pitch exercise, I developed my public speaking abilities and gained vital experience in teamworking.
I also developed skills in networking, and learnt how to engage with seniors within the firm.
