Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I help to forecast revenue for the coming months/quarters for my department, which involves running data downloads from SAP's online systems and manipulating the data to the correct format for what I need to know. Based upon this, I may have to ask consultants/project managers for forecasts. On top of this - I help to staff consultants to work they do, so they can record their time effectively.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Lots! The majority of my tasks I carried out on a day to day basis I was the only one in my team that knew how to do them which says it all I think - we are trusted to carry out our tasks without anyone needing to oversee. Also, having the huge responsibility of being heavily involved in the hiring process for the replacement intern was great too, showing that SAP really trust their interns.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have become much more confident in using Microsoft Excel, going from very little knowledge at all to having advanced knowledge in order to carry out my role. As well as this, my overall confidence has grown too - having the chance to chair meetings and present in-front of large groups helped build my confidence massively, as I am naturally quite a quite person.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
SAP run their placement scheme over the span of 13 months. This means that my first month is overlaps with my predecessor's last month, which enables a month long onboarding, giving us the chance to learn everything we need from the outgoing intern over the course of a month. The placements team within SAP were also excellent - any issue we had they were always there to help us out.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Due to the remote nature of my placement it is difficult for me to speak about the atmosphere within the office, however from start to finish everyone that I met on calls and throughout my day to day work were excellent - kind, enthusiastic and always willing to help. I can only imagine it will be the same in the office too.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I loved every second of my placement! Being exposed to how a large corporate scale company runs from the inside was fantastic and exactly what I'd hoped for when starting my placement at SAP, and being able to work with so many other interns at SAP was fantastic too. There are so many opportunities to get involved in outside of your day to day role that it never got boring or repetitive.

What advice would you give to others applying to SAP
Believe in yourself - I never thought I would be successful applying to a large corporate company placement scheme like SAP's, but the experience I have gained has been invaluable. Also, do plenty of research on SAP - if you start the research early enough and keep looking over it then it will seem less like you are repeating straight off of Google, Wikipedia etc. I did a university project on SAP roughly 3 months before I applied which helped massively with this.
