Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Picking up odd jobs, receiving training and learning about particular tasks, sitting in on meetings.
There were also 3 assessed excercises to work towards: a written excercise, and investment exercise, and an actuarial exercise

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, and it felt like the right amount of responsibility. All the work I did was checked by someone else but I felt like I was still making a useful and significant contribution.

Gained a lot of knowledge and skill around using excel, developed my communication skills, my knowledge in the pensions industry, and worked on my presentation skills.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Loads, although it depended a little on which department I was in and the people I was working with. Everyone was lovely and supportive, and happy to answer questions
