Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My role involved me taking tasks offered by both the investment and actuarial teams. This meant working with other employees and them explaining what needed to be done. I got lots of experience working there and a good view of what they do

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given a good level of responsibility. I was able to complete tasks on my own schedule and allowed to get them done as I though was best. All my work was checked and the team were very helpful in answering any questions that I had which made me much more confident in my work

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I learnt a lot about actuarial and investments concepts and how they’re applied in the real world as well as working on professional skills such as presentation and team-working skills. It was very valuable to me to gain experience working full time at a company in a professional manner

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company has a really great culture. Everyone was friendly and worked well together and there was a large social component to my internship and the company at large
