Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My project for the summer was working with one of the data teams to help research all the government regulations for the product we cover. I also worked on a project helping to retrain the machine learning model to increase its accuracy.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given complete autonomy over my project and it seems like the project will be incorporated into the team's workflow. Also had flexibility over my schedule and was responsible for setting the majority of my meetings. Asked to present findings to team's global manager, so was given a lot of responsibility and chances to share my results. I was very happily surprised with the level of trust they had in their interns.

I have been working to develop basic python skills, data analysis, project and stakeholder management. Also learned in-depth knowledge of how to use the Bloomberg terminal.

What advice would you give to others applying to Bloomberg
I would do a lot of research to understand all the various departments within Bloomberg. Look at some of the specific initiatives in the dept. you are applying for. Also spend some time learning about the terminal! I would say to be patient and be yourself, there are lots of interviews and steps in the application process, but everyone I talked to was amazing and I had some really great conversations.
