Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Recording the number of manual interventions on automated machinery from the previous 24 hours to understand what the issues were and forecast any detrimental problems. I would send out a daily emails to the works director to show improvements or any problems that would result in downtime.
Carried out commissioning and quality tasks for the new waste water treatment plant. It involved P&ID checks and a understanding the consent for discharge.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes. Manged key projects and sub-projects. Allowed to push my ideas forward and was always financially backed.
Help train people in new skills that were developed over the course of the project.
Also learnt was responsibility meant in high pressure environment.

A lot of support. There always someone you can ask a question too. I had biweekly calls with my line manger which helped in receiving guidance.
