At month end, we would compare recent data against the financial plan and identify any clear areas of interest to report back to the wider team. We would analyse data in an effort to find the root causes behind any significant deviations from the plan.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
There was more opportunity for responsibility than I initially expected. My project to create an improved materials cost forecast for the team is expected to be implemented in the next financial plan, meaning I was able to have a genuine impact on the running of the business.

My Line manager was in constant contact in case I needed any help with my work, he also arranged weekly checkups to assess progress. We were also given grad buddies for additional support.
