Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I worked in a team of 3 interns on a project to upgrade one of the systems onsite by following engineering standards. We had daily meetings in our to discuss progress and decide on tasks to do for the day. We met with our line manager at least once a week and met with our team graduate about every other day.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes - the project we were given was a needed project for the site and we were left to mostly work on it ourselves.

I developed my excel skills as well as teamworking/communication. I learned Aspen HYSYS and some other company specific systems.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received lots of support. I was always able to reach colleagues who took time to help. Weekly meeting with my manager were very helpful and friendly. They always took time to check both work progress and personal wellbeing. I also had a graduate "buddy" who was always on hand for a chat and I had calls with regularly.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Company culture was great with huge emphasis on safety and general colleague wellbeing. Everyone was very welcoming and willing to help. There was never any expectation to work outside of hours and everyone was understanding regarding personal matters.
